Job Overview

As the initial point of contact and liaison between patients, healthcare facilities, physicians, clinical staff, and practices, you will be responsible for answering a high volume of inbound calls, navigating electronic health records, and providing exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers. Key Responsibilities

• Navigate electronic health records to obtain and validate historical information, capture and document demographic and financial information, and maintain accountability for accurate data entry while ensuring patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA.
• Manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call and providing excellent customer service in a variety of situations.
• Leverage critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify the reason for the call and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity, researching complex issues in the electronic health record and consulting/escalating to clinical staff when necessary.
• Schedule patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verify and update insurance, and collect and document demographics, maintaining proficiency in and sharing knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions.
• Manage calls within established performance and customer service standards, achieving targeted abandoned call rate, average speed of answer, and average transaction time, and communicating in a professional, positive, and respectful manner with patients, providers, arenaflex staff, and external organizations.

Essential Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-5 years of experience in customer service or healthcare, with a strong preference for recent healthcare experience.
• Typing speed of minimum 35 wpm with 90% accuracy.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, as this is a safety-sensitive position.
• Must live within 1 hour of St. Louis, Missouri.

• Experience working with electronic health records and navigating complex healthcare systems.
