About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Online Instructor - Web Development to join our team in the Division of Liberal Arts. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of digital education in Baton Rouge, LA. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to share your expertise and passion for web development with students, and to contribute to the growth and development of our institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach web development courses online, including introductory and advanced courses in web development, programming languages, and web development tools.
- Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans, syllabi, and assessments that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Provide high-quality instruction, guidance, and support to students, including online office hours, email support, and feedback on assignments and projects.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in web development, and incorporate these into your teaching and course materials.
- Collaborate with colleagues and department chairs to develop and implement curriculum, assessments, and other educational initiatives.
- Participate in faculty development and training programs to enhance teaching and learning skills.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the institution through service on committees, task forces, and other initiatives.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications:
- 4 years of experience in web development or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a web development-related field.
- Hands-on experience with various web applications, programming languages, and web development tools, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
While the following qualifications are not essential, they are highly desirable:
- Master's degree or higher in a web development-related field.
- Experience teaching online courses or developing online educational materials.
- Knowledge of learning management systems, such as Canvas or Blackboard.
- Experience with web development frameworks, such as React or Angular.
