**Job Summary:**
As an Ocean Product Development Specialist at arenaflex, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our ocean volumes and enhancing the development of our ocean product. Working closely with our MD of Ocean, you'll be responsible for supporting carrier development, pricing, analyzing carrier service, routings, carrier performance, and addressing carrier service issues. This position requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, analytical skills, and exceptional communication abilities.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Execute strategies to support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of the ocean product
* Collaborate with the MD of Ocean to develop and implement pricing programs, review volume targets, and analyze carrier performance
* Work closely with the Global Trade Lane Team, Sales, and Operations to communicate direction and deliverables, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
* Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are met or exceeded
* Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity
* Submit reports as required and work with the MD of Ocean and Regional Ocean Management Team to promote the ocean product
* Support Sales and Operations as needed, managing annual budgets and controlling, monitoring, and reporting results on a regular basis
* Collaborate with Marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product
**Essential Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent (8) years of experience in international freight forwarding, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, and analyzing ocean rates and routing
* Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

* Knowledge of ocean carrier performance metrics and analysis
