**Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced Visual Effects Supervisor to lead our VFX team in delivering exceptional visual experiences for our original movies. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the VFX process, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor management.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Oversee all components of the VFX process on a slate of movie projects as assigned by the Director, VFX.
* Collaborate with production teams, Studio executives, and Finance during development and pre-production.
* Study scripts, develop VFX breakdowns & budgets, and plan manufacturing/post-production.
* Provide guidance and feedback on VFX's scope of work and feasibility.
* Construct and manage visual effects teams, including recruiting Supervisors, manufacturers, and carriers.
* Negotiate with vendors and oversee agreement negotiations and liaise with legal to ensure compliance with costs and organizational regulations.
* Handle VFX delivery progress and value file tracking, and troubleshoot schedule and budget issues.
* Ensure manufacturing is running smoothly, meeting deadlines, and staying on budget.
* Support expanding and maintaining constant reporting on budget, schedule, and VFX development.
* Collaborate with the VFX manager and VFX producer to review VFX media and ensure high-quality work.
* Gain knowledge of and network with new groups and up-and-comers, monitoring skills availability.
* Stay up-to-date with technical knowledge of the visual effects process, including 4K pipelines and emerging technologies for improving workflows.
* Understand tax incentives and rebates.
* Assist in crafting, implementing, and executing strategic tasks and branch workflows in alignment with the Director, VFX.
**Qualifications**
* 2+ years of experience in overseeing multiple projects at a time in managerial roles, including VFX producer, post-producer, VFX executive producer, VFX supervisor, etc.
* Passion for visual effects and the artistry that makes it possible.
* Enjoy collecting and negotiating vendor bids, and budgeting for visual effects.
* International relations and discretion in handling sensitive issues and confidential matters.
* Strong government communication and mastery of the ability to lead without authority.
* Understanding of modern trends for VFX manufacturing workflows.
* Team player who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
* Preference and self-motivation to continuously analyze and improve processes.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask.
