Job Overview and Key Responsibilities
As an IT Senior Developer at Delta Air Lines, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native applications, features, and enhancements that drive our business forward. - Design and develop cloud-native applications, features, and enhancements with an emphasis on clean, highly efficient, supportable, and well-documented code for the full technological stack.
- Contribute to Agile development teams following 12 Factor application development principles, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet user requirements.
- Maintain frontend web applications to provide end-to-end UX from creation of a financial portfolio to generating trades for optimized revenues.
- Optimize the application code build and deployment process via CI/CD pipeline tools, integrating high-fidelity visualization libraries for UI dashboards presenting business insights to business use cases.
- Collaborate with clients to define and clarify business requirements, ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs based on business requirements.
- Debug errors, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine performance optimizations to ensure the smooth operation of our applications.
- Work closely with cross-team members to consistently improve the functionality and user friendliness of our web applications.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you will need a strong educational foundation in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field. You should also have a minimum of 5 years of experience in IT or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in IT or a related field, with a focus on Java/J2EE development, troubleshooting, and deployment.
- Full-stack Cloud-native development experience, including RESTful APIs and serverless microservices with SpringBoot.
- DevOps experience using Git, Jenkins, or Ansible.
- Experience with JBOSS and Websphere, as well as data modeling skills for SQL (Oracle) and NoSQL (Cassandra or MongoDB).
- Familiarity with messaging solutions, including ActiveMQ or Kafka.
Preferred Qualifications and Competitive Edge
While not required, having experience in the airlines industry will be an added advantage. Additionally, if you have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, with 3 years of experience in IT or a related field, you will be considered a strong candidate.
