Key Responsibilities
- Acquire, organize, cleanse, and control large-scale, high-dimensional data from various disparate sources using tools like PySpark and advanced SQL.
- Build automated, flexible, repeatable, and integrated analytics using current big data architectures in data ecosystems, such as Databricks, Snowflake, Google Big Query.
- Apply advanced analytics techniques (data mining, statistical analysis, machine learning) to identify patterns and uncover opportunities in social data.
- Lead campaign, product, content, and audience analysis for business needs. Develop and track key metrics to measure success.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to complete data projects, contributing to solution discovery, design, build, and QA.
- Translate business inquiries into analytical and technical approaches, driving results through analysis of large transactional-level datasets.
- Communicate effectively, refining insights into concise and compelling data-driven stories and engage broadly with audiences across levels and functions.
Essential Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, including Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related fields.
Experience
- 2 years of analytical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning methods.
- Proficient in using scripting tools like PySpark/Python/R and SQL.
- Proficient in data analysis and visualization tools.
- Strong time management with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience
- Experience in applying supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, such as linear and logistic regression, decision trees, or k-means clustering to derive, validate, and measure conclusions from data.
- Experience reporting data requirements, rules, and assumptions.
- Experience with data mining in distributed systems like Databricks/Google Big Query/Snowflake.
- Experience handling large, transactional-level datasets and interpreting data trends from various disparate data sources.
Knowledge
- Passion for music or media industry data.
- Familiarity with music streaming services (Spotify, Apple, Amazon Music, YouTube), social media platforms (TikTok, FB/Instagram), and emerging technologies (digital assistants/voice).
- Graduate degree in a quantitative field, including Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related fields.
