About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our team at blithequark. As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for determining and reporting merchant discount income, driving normalization and process improvement, and performing ad-hoc data analysis to assess rebate rate trends and uncover insights. Key Responsibilities
- Create a Canada figure for merchant discount income and track monthly performance against forecast, identifying drivers of change.
- Develop merchant discount income scorecards for the Canada region.
- Drive standardization and process improvement among the different regional pricing groups for all reporting and forecasting related activities.
- Support external audits, including investigating issues found, contacting the regional pricing groups that manage the merchant relationship to discuss issues, and managing resolutions.
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis to assess rebate rate trends and uncover insights.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 2+ years of experience in financial services or payments industry, and/or other financial roles.
- A Bachelor's degree required; strongly preferred in Finance/Accounting/Business.
- High proficiency with Excel is required.
- Solid attention to detail and organization.
- Solid analytical skills; demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models and draw value-added insights from a large set of financial data.
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SAS/SQL) is required.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral.
- A strong relationship with stakeholders and collaboration skills with the ability to influence others in situations where there may be multiple objectives.
- A strong work ethic with an extreme will-to-win, ability to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, which puts a premium on driving results.
- An innovative thinker who will challenge conventional approaches to getting things done and develop new ways to approach old challenges.
- Solid project management skills with full ownership from analysis through to execution.
- A passionate focus on the client; demonstrated desire to understand and address client needs and pain points.
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in a global organization with a diverse community of partners.
- Knowledge of financial planning and analysis, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Certifications in finance or accounting, such as CFA or CPA.
