Job Description Role: E-Commerce Product Manager/Business Analyst Contract: 6 months with chance of extension Location: Remote Rate: $50-$56/hour W2 dependent on skills and qualifications The E-Commerce Product Manager/Business Analyst 3-4 is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, operational effectiveness, and business value delivery of our 3rd party e-commerce platform. This position serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, the vendor, and technical teams to ensure the platform meets organizational objectives. The role involves defining and executing product vision, managing vendor relationships, advocating for platform adoption across the organization, and ensuring requirements are properly translated into functional capabilities. The ideal candidate will balance strategic planning with tactical execution while maintaining focus on user satisfaction, financial optimization, and operational excellence. EXPERIENCE • 5-7 years of experience in product management, business analysis, or related roles • Demonstrated experience with e-commerce platforms and digital commerce strategies • Experience managing vendor relationships and third-party applications • Track record of successful cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management • Previous experience with requirements gathering, user story creation, and acceptance criteria definition EDUCATION • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field • Product Management or Business Analysis certification preferred (e.g., CSPO, PMP, CBAP) SKILLS • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute on a product vision that aligns with organizational goals • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences • Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and derive actionable insights • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders with competing priorities • Requirements Engineering: Expert in eliciting, documenting, and validating business requirements • Technical Understanding: Sufficient technical knowledge to have credible conversations with development teams and vendors • Problem Solving: Ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions to complex problems • Organization: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities • Leadership: Ability to influence without authority and drive organizational change • Customer Focus: Deep understanding of customer needs and ability to champion customer experience OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) • Experience with requirements management and visualization tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Visio) • Knowledge of e-commerce best practices, trends, and competitive landscape • Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management principles • Understanding of digital marketing, analytics, and user experience principles PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects • Sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time • Position works in an office environment with controlled temperatures and with extended periods of the workday sitting at a desk utilizing computer equipment ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Product Strategy & Vision • Develop and articulate a clear, compelling product vision and roadmap for the e-commerce platform that aligns with company goals and market opportunities • Identify opportunities to maximize the value of the 3rd party platform through new features, integrations, or process improvements • Facilitate and document strategic planning sessions with key stakeholders to determine platform direction and priorities • Evaluate and recommend platform enhancements based on business needs, market trends, and vendor capabilities Vendor Relationship Management • Serve as the primary point of contact with the e-commerce platform vendor • Negotiate service level agreements, scope changes, and feature requests with the vendor • Manage vendor performance against contractual obligations and escalate issues when necessary • Stay current on the vendor's product roadmap and communicate relevant updates to stakeholders Requirements Management • Elicit, analyze, validate, and document business requirements for platform configurations and customizations • Perform gap analysis between business needs and platform capabilities • Create comprehensive documentation including functional specifications, process flows, and business rules • Validate that implemented solutions meet business requirements through testing and user acceptance Platform Advocacy & Adoption • Drive platform adoption across the organization through education, training, and communication • Demonstrate platform value through metrics, case studies, and success stories • Lead cross-functional working groups to identify and implement best practices • Address stakeholder concerns and resistance through proactive engagement and problem-solving Project Coordination • Work with IT Project Managers to plan and coordinate platform initiatives • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for platform enhancements • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies • Ensure appropriate change management procedures are followed for all platform modifications Analytics & Performance Monitoring • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the e-commerce platform • Analyze user behavior and platform performance to identify opportunities for improvement • Create and distribute regular reports on platform performance and business impact • Use data-driven insights to inform platform strategy and prioritization decisions Stakeholder Management • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across all business functions • Facilitate decision-making processes among competing priorities and stakeholders • Communicate platform capabilities, limitations, and tradeoffs effectively • Manage expectations regarding platform features, timelines, and resource constraints MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES May provide guidance and mentoring to junior business analysts supporting the platform. NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES Work with business stakeholders to identify and develop new revenue opportunities through the e-commerce platform. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Travel up to 25% of the time for vendor meetings, conferences, and stakeholder engagement.
