Key Responsibilities
As a Director, Business Development - Supply Chain, you'll be responsible for:
- Developing and executing business strategies to drive growth and profitability within the Life Sciences and Medical Devices industry.
- Managing customer relationships to ensure long-term partnerships and revenue growth.
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through strategic networking, industry events, and market research.
- Defining and developing new service capabilities that extend our core value proposition and drive business growth.
- Acting as the primary customer contact for a specific customer base, driving relationship development, commercial agreements, and account strategy.
Accountabilities and Duties
Your key accountabilities will include:
- Account Management: Developing and executing strategic account plans to drive growth and profitability.
- Network Management: Building and maintaining internal and external networks to drive business opportunities and pipeline growth.
- Margin Performance: Delivering against revenue and gross profit targets, and managing margin performance vs. pro-forma income statements.
- Pipeline Goals: Driving pipeline growth, managing gross revenue in pipeline, and achieving business close ratios.
In addition to these accountabilities, your detailed duties will include:
Customer Focus
- Developing and strengthening customer relationships through regular engagement and strategic account planning.
- Driving profitable account growth through targeted sales strategies and partnership development.
- Researching and developing relationships with new potential accounts to drive business growth.
- Creating and executing account communication plans to ensure effective stakeholder engagement.
- Facilitating customer survey responses and communicating results to drive customer experience management.
Process Excellence
- Driving Sales Opportunity to Operational Delivery (O2D) awareness, understanding, and execution to ensure seamless delivery.
- Interacting with cross-functional teams to ensure completion of customer-related projects and action plans.
- Transferring best practices between customer accounts to drive process excellence.
- Participating in budget processes to ensure operational site alignment with account strategy.
- Staying up-to-date with solution sets and driving growth through targeted sales strategies.
Requirements and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
- 10+ years of experience in Logistics or Supply Chain Management, with a proven track record of driving business growth and innovation.
- 5+ years of consultative sales/business development experience, with a strong understanding of the Life Sciences and Medical Devices industry.
- 5+ years of P&L responsibility, with a proven track record of delivering against revenue and gross profit targets.
