They are seeking a Designer I who will assist throughout the design process, contribute creative ideas, and support schematic design and client presentations under supervision. Responsibilities - Provides assistance throughout the design process under routine guidance; contributes to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design - Supports preparation of creative and innovative design ideas, concepts, and solutions while participating as an integral member of the design team - Provides design support under supervision for schematic design, design development, and construction documents - Performs product research and assists team with material selections - Assists in preparing client presentation materials using design application skills and creative ideas - Uses a creative approach to perform tasks and responsibilities on projects in an organized, timely, and consistent way - Self-checks work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and compile data for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual - Proactively asks questions and expresses curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large - Provides support to tasks within project teams (may focus on individual detailed tasks) and studio activities - Participates in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups - Keeps open communication within team and with designated team leader - Communicates ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others - Assists with coordination among partners and consultants Skills - Bachelor's degree in architecture or related discipline required - Effective verbal and written communication skills - Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn - Collaborative and professional work ethic - Proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software; Revit strongly preferred - Additional proficiencies may include site analysis, preliminary design studies, and field measurements - Additional skills should include Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Excel, Lumion, and Rhino - LEED GA within 6 months of hire - Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD, or ILFI Living Future Accreditation - Active involvement in AXP, or starting the ARE Process Benefits - Medical - Dental - Vision - FSA/HSA accounts - 401k with employer match - PTO and paid holidays - Short-term and long-term disability - Paid parental leave - Commuter benefits - Life insurance - Learning and development opportunities Company Overview - Since 1935, we’ve believed that design has the power to make the world a better, more beautiful place.
