Title: Contract Lead Location: Remote Job Type: Contract (6 Months) Compensation: $35-40 per hour Industry: Medical Devices About The Role Our firm is partnering with a global leader in the industrial manufacturing and advanced materials sector to hire a Contract Lead supporting their Procurement organization. This role is responsible for end-to-end contract lifecycle management, ensuring supplier agreements are negotiated, reviewed, and executed in alignment with business objectives, compliance requirements, and evolving regulatory expectations. The ideal candidate brings a blend of commercial acumen, contract expertise, and strong supplier-facing communication skills. This position works closely with Procurement, Legal, Compliance, and cross-functional business teams to ensure contracts are commercially sound, risk-mitigated, and aligned with strategic sourcing goals. Job Description In this role, the Contract Lead will oversee the full lifecycle of supplier agreements across multiple procurement categories while ensuring alignment with the organization’s commercial, compliance, and operational objectives. This position requires a proactive contract specialist who can balance negotiation strategy, stakeholder alignment, and regulatory rigor. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, works effectively with cross-functional partners, and leverages CLM tools to enhance visibility and efficiency across the contract process. Key Responsibilities Include Contract Management & Negotiation • Draft, review, and negotiate supplier agreements across direct, indirect, logistics, and contract manufacturing categories. • Manage redlines and supplier edits, escalating complex legal issues to internal counsel when necessary. • Act as the central point of contact for procurement contract matters, maintaining strong supplier relationships. • Support contract initiation, execution, amendments, and renewal activities to meet business timelines. Compliance & Risk Oversight • Interpret and apply new laws, regulations, and internal policies to contract language and risk assessments. • Ensure contracts consistently align with internal governance, regulatory frameworks, and supplier risk standards. • Assist with compliance reporting, internal/external audits, and supplier risk evaluations. CLM System & Process Optimization • Utilize Contract Lifecycle Management tools (e.g., Summize) to manage workflows, approvals, obligations, and renewals. • Track and analyze contract metadata to support reporting, compliance validation, and procurement decision-making. • Identify and recommend improvements to contract lifecycle processes and CLM system usage. Templates, Clauses & Knowledge Management • Maintain and update contract templates and clause libraries to reflect regulatory, legal, and business changes. • Collaborate with Legal and Procurement leadership to deploy new contracting standards. • Support training, documentation, and best-practice sharing to increase contract literacy across the team. Supplier & Stakeholder Collaboration • Work closely with Procurement, Legal, Compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure contract terms support strategic sourcing goals. • Provide contract support for procurement-led initiatives requiring supplier interaction and legal oversight. • Build and maintain strong working relationships to drive seamless contract execution. Qualifications Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, or related field. • 5+ years of experience in contract administration or procurement contracting within a corporate environment. • Proficiency with CLM platforms and contract metadata management. • Strong understanding of procurement categories, supplier engagement, and contract negotiation. • Solid understanding of contract law, compliance requirements, and supplier risk frameworks. • Exceptional attention to detail, negotiation skills, and written/verbal communication abilities. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and contracts independently in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications • JD or paralegal certification. • Experience in regulated industries such as medical technology, pharmaceuticals, or advanced manufacturing.
