DT Global delivers the Capacity Support Programme for MFAT. The scope of this programme is quite broad as its aim is to be responsive to the needs of Pacific Island countries. It includes providing personnel or training to assist with:
- Delivering and reporting on the flexible finance provided by MFAT;
- Developing/updating national climate change plans and reporting frameworks;
- Developing and investment-ready pipeline of projects;
- Delivering climate change priorities;
- Improving climate finance reporting; and
- Accessing a broader range of climate funding.

The Role
The Climate Flexible Finance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the effective management and implementation of activities funded under the MFAT CFF Partnership Arrangement. The role focuses on coordinating across government agencies, providing procurement and administrative support to the Director of DoCC and the National Advisory Board, and contributing to planning, monitoring, and reporting. This includes facilitating communication, supporting project approvals, tracking delivery against the CFF work plan, and preparing progress, financial, and final reports to ensure timely and effective use of CFF resources.

About You
Essential Experience and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as economics, finance, environmental management, or international development
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management, project identification, planning, and assessment processes, particularly within a government context
- Experience managing project pipelines, project budgets, including tracking expenditures, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and reporting on budget performance.
- Knowledge of the climate change sector, with a focus on climate finance or related areas.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to coordinate finance across a range of government agencies across different sectors
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, including the ability to collaborate effectively with government agencies, international organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Advanced communication skills, both oral and written, in English and Bislama
Desirable
- Experience working in a public sector environment implementing projects and project pipelines would be a distinct advantage
- Familiarity with Vanuatu’s policy landscape, especially in relation to climate change and disaster risk management.
- Knowledge of GEDSI mainstreaming principles and approaches
- French speaking is an advantage
