Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Avid School Wide Team Leader (.50) to effectively plan and implement the AVID System at the building level. The successful candidate will be a certified educator in Delaware, currently employed in the Brandywine School District (BSD), and demonstrate a strong commitment to equity, access, and student-centered learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and advocacy for students, supporting the AVID philosophy and commitment to equity and access for all students.
- Develop and maintain an active Site Team, acting as a liaison between the Principal, Site Team, and AVID District Director.
- Utilize the AVID College and Career Readiness Framework to support students and staff, overseeing certification and data collection.
- Collaborate with different sites and grade levels to articulate curriculum and activities, advocating for AVID methodologies and providing professional learning for staff.
- Facilitate parent meetings, contract signing parties, and end-of-year celebrations, while attending monthly District Coordinator Meetings and Site Team Meetings.
- Organize and manage student recruitment, professional development for AVID Tutors, and monitor tutor hours.
- Plan and organize field trips, college visits, and guest speakers, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging experience for students.
Requirements:
- Delaware Standard Certificate as an Educator.
- Currently employed as an educator in the BSD.
- Demonstrated integrity, high expectations for students and the program, commitment, respect, dedication to teamwork, and passion for a student-centered environment.
- Excellent communication and cooperative work skills.
