Ampirical is shaping the future of the power grid with precision, innovation, and purpose. As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll support the delivery of multiple high-impact projects by collaborating with Project and Program Managers and managing essential project documentation.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Project and Program Managers to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget
- Work closely with internal departmental and engineering teams to track and assess project progress
- Collect data from engineers, project controls, and procurement to provide comprehensive project status reports on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis
- Organize and manage project meetings, ensuring that action items are captured and followed up
- Maintain and manage key project deliverables such as the Action Item List, Communication Plan, Contact List, and Risk Register
- Analyze contracts to determine project scope, deliverables, milestones, and permit requirements
- Assist in the development and processing of change orders for projects
- Obtain subcontractor documentation (e.g., insurance, bonds, change orders) and maintain subcontractor proposals
- Coordinate with Construction and Procurement teams to ensure that all materials, PPE, and documentation are ready before project mobilization
- Travel occasionally to project sites with appropriate PPE to ensure project milestones are being met
- Schedule subcontractor meetings during construction, maintaining the 3-week lookahead schedule and providing updates for Project Managers
- Gather necessary project documentation required for project closeout
- Assist Project Managers with Substantial and Final Completion Letters
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Relevant experience in project support roles, preferably within the utility or energy sector
- Strong organizational skills and time management abilities
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for collaboration and team support
- Masterful at managing to deadlines and budgets while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Strong analytical and presentation skills related to project progress, budgets, and schedules
- Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) projects
- Knowledge of project management software
- Experience with OSHA certifications
