3D Modeling Technician
About the Role
As a 3D Modeling Technician at Astra Surveying, you will primarily work on as-built models for heavy civil construction projects-including roadway, highway, bridges, and commercial sites. Ideal candidates are versatile and able to handle the full spectrum of modeling and related tasks described below.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Trimble Business Center for 3D modeling
- Strong understanding of the heavy highway/heavy civil industry
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
- Accountability and dedication to timelines and quality
- Strong analytical skills and performance tracking
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Create 3D models and surfaces for construction projects (roadway, highway, bridge)
- Convert 3D models into machine control files (SVD, SVL, .DC, .CAL, .DSZ)
- Generate quantities for roadway, highway, bridges, and sub-grade
- Perform takeoffs related to construction modeling
- Support heavy civil construction projects with accurate 3D modeling data
- Periodic weekend or evening work as required
