Valley View Charter Prep utilizes an individualized learning approach, where teachers serve as educational experts within a triad comprising of the student, parent, and teacher. Our independent study credentialed teachers work cooperatively with parent educators to develop individualized student learning plans. Our teachers prioritize optimal teaching methods and standards-aligned curriculum in coordination with the parent educators. Additionally, our teachers support students who require assistance in early literacy and mathematics through small group instruction in a virtual environment.

Job Summary
We are seeking a Teacher (Independent Study/Homeschool) for Valley View Charter Prep to support students in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. This role supports student success by delivering standards-aligned instruction using school- and state-approved curriculum, monitoring progress toward learning goals and California Standards, and supporting each student’s academic and social-emotional needs.

• Possess and maintain valid California Teaching Credential for level of instruction
• English Learner authorization
• Experience and knowledge of the Common Core standards and standards-based curriculum, behavior management techniques, record keeping, student assessment, planning for individual student learning needs, and child development
• Able to travel with reliable transportation to various locations to accomplish objectives of this role

Refer to Salary Schedule link below. PCI offers full time employees a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision and STRS for Certificated positions. A 401k plan is available for ALL STAFF (including PT) with an employer contribution.
