Role Description BJC is looking for a Patient Access Rep II for our Siteman Cancer Center! We are looking for someone who has registration experience and has worked in EPIC. • First point of contact for patients, representing BJC with high standards of customer service and compassion • Facilitate all components of the patients' entrance into any BJC facility • High level of emotional intelligence and personal connection with patients • Impact ability to maximize reimbursements and prevent denials through accurate collection of demographics and insurance information • Critical selection of the correct patient from the master person index (MPI) for patient safety • Possess a friendly demeanor, exceptional attention to detail, and maintain knowledge of insurance carriers and guidelines Responsibilities • Hospital registration and scheduling within multiple BJC systems • Ensure proper patient identification, register, schedule, verify insurance, and scan/retrieve documents • Validate that orders are complete, signed by the ordering provider, and the correct test is ordered • Provide preparation instructions for scheduled procedures and educate patients on financial responsibilities • Understand and enforce compliance with Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP), HIPAA Privacy Standards, and other regulations • Utilize critical thinking skills to assess and respond to various situations • Communicate professionally and positively with patients, families, and co-workers • Meet or exceed quality standards and serve as a mentor for lesser skilled employees • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED • Less than 2 years of experience Preferred Qualifications • Associate's Degree • 2-5 years of experience • No supervisory experience required • CHAA certification Benefits • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and legal services available first day of the month after hire date • Disability insurance paid for by BJC • Annual 4% BJC Automatic Retirement Contribution • 401(k) plan with BJC match • Tuition Assistance available on first day • BJC Institute for Learning and Development • Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts • Paid Time Off benefit combines vacation, sick days, holidays, and personal time • Adoption assistance Apply tot his job
