Electrical Engineering Trainee - Infrastructure

They are currently looking for an Electrical Engineering Trainee to join their growing Infrastructure group in Ontario, contributing to a variety of projects related to municipal building services. Responsibilities Collaborate with a multidisciplinary design team, working under the guidance of the Project Manager and Lead Electrical Engineer Assist in the development of electrical power distribution system designs, including single-line diagrams, site power layouts, overcurrent protection, emergency power generation, lighting layouts, and power distribution plans Support the development of Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) designs for SCADA systems, including control panels, P&IDs, process control narratives, I/O lists, instrument selections, network diagrams, and communication panels Assist in preparing designs, calculations, plans, specifications, calculations, reports, and contract documents for municipal building services, particularly for water and wastewater facilities, focusing on power distribution, motor controls, lighting, communications, and security systems Participate in fieldwork and site visits, assisting with investigations, studies, inspections, and reviews of electrical distribution and I&C shop drawings, as well as life safety and communications systems Skills Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering 1-3 years of electrical engineering experience, ideally in water/wastewater or industrial projects Knowledgeable of electrical power distribution systems and I&C designs Familiarity with site work, detailed design, and project engineering within a multidisciplinary team Excellent communication skills and a desire to learn and grow within the engineering field Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for site visits Basic experience using design tools such as ETAP or EasyPower preferred, but not essential Benefits Comprehensive Group Benefits available from day one for all permanent employees working at least 20 hours per week Employee and Family Assistance Program Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with up to 4% employer contribution As an employee-owned company, an annual opportunity to purchase shares for all employees Flexible work schedule in a hybrid work mode Work/Life balance policy across Canada 3-5 weeks of vacation, based on years of relevant experience Tailored training to improve your existing skills Company Overview CIMA+ is a multidisciplinary firm specializing in engineering, project management, urban planning, new technologies, and the environment.
