Job Overview This is a part-time, 20-hour per week position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you'll play a vital role in our Community Medical Group, providing essential support to our healthcare team and delivering exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities Provides patient care by assessing health status, implementing care plans, documenting interventions, and evaluating patient progress. Coordinates patient flow and prepares patients for examination, taking and recording vital signs and EKGs. Assists physicians and other healthcare professionals with clinical procedures, performs basic office laboratory procedures, and prepares, documents, and administers non-intravenous injections as directed. Triages medical calls according to office protocol, returns patient calls, and documents interactions in patient records. Reviews laboratory results, ensuring abnormal results are brought to the attention of physicians and other relevant team members. Qualifications and Requirements Essential Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant from a recognized certifying organization (ARMA, AAMA, AAHA, AMT, NHA, National Center for Competency Testing, or Monty Technical School). If certification is not available upon hire, a Medical Assistant credential must be obtained within 12 months. Valid MA driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to Community Medical Group sites. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal. Proven problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm under stress or in emergency situations. Preferred Qualifications BLS Certification. Minimum of three years of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant. Medical terminology and computer skills.
