Multnomah County is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Budget Technician to join their Central Budget Office. This entry-level role supports budget operations, assists with financial analysis, and ensures the accuracy of financial information, all while contributing to public service in the community. Responsibilities Support Budget Operations: Help with the day-to-day tasks that keep our budget office running smoothly, like data entry, processing financial documents, and maintaining records Assist with Analysis: Learn how to pull reports and gather financial data that our Budget Analysts use to make important decisions Be a Data Detective: Help ensure the accuracy of our financial information. You'll be a pro at catching details Team Up: Work closely with other budget professionals, learning from their expertise and contributing to a collaborative environment Grow Your Skills: We'll provide training on budget processes, financial software, and the ins and outs of government finance Skills Equivalent to an associate's degree One (1) year of experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Advanced Excel skills Data Visualization skills Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems Attention to detail Experience communicating clearly and concisely, written and verbal Ability to interpret and apply accounting and fiscal-related laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, policies and procedures Transferable skills: Your transferable skills are any skills you have gained through education, work experience (including the military) or life experience that are relevant for this position.
