Job Title: Audit & Accounting Contractor Remote | 10+ Hours per Week | Job Description: Our client is a growing audit and accounting firm that supports religious organizations and nonprofit clients. They are seeking an experienced Audit & Accounting Contractor to provide part-time support as they continue to expand their client base. This fully remote Audit & Accounting Contractor role will begin at a minimum of 10 hours per week, with hours varying and the potential to increase over time. The ideal Audit & Accounting Contractor will have a strong background in nonprofit auditing, accounting cleanup, and process documentation. This individual will partner closely with firm leadership and will be responsible for client-facing communication, reviewing work completed by bookkeepers, and helping to train and support the internal team. Key Responsibilities: The Audit & Accounting Contractor will: • Support audit engagements, including audit preparation, revenue recalculations, and ensuring compliance with current auditing standards • Document internal controls, systems, workflows, and financial processes • Perform accounting and bookkeeping cleanup for nonprofit and religious clients • Review work completed by bookkeepers and provide training, coaching, and quality guidance • Maintain ongoing communication with clients and support project-related needs • Prepare audit-related reports and ensure accurate financial documentation • Utilize QuickBooks and advanced Excel functions, including PV tables and flow charts Required Qualifications: To be successful as the Audit & Accounting Contractor, candidates must have: • CPA or equivalent professional experience in nonprofit accounting or auditing • Prior audit experience with nonprofits or religious organizations • Strong bookkeeping and accounting cleanup experience • Proficiency with QuickBooks and advanced Excel • Excellent client-facing communication skills • Ability to work independently in a remote environment Preferred Qualifications: • Experience documenting systems, processes, and internal controls • Familiarity with nonprofit grant reporting #INDEC2025 #ZRCFS Company DescriptionCFS is the industry’s leading employee-owned staffing firm, connecting top talent in accounting, finance, technology, and human resources.
