The Composite Rotor Blade Design Engineer position involves developing next generation designs for rotor blades, ensuring they meet performance and durability requirements while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities Developing conceptual, preliminary, and detail design layouts of composite blade designs Follow robust processes to ensure the designs meet customer and company requirements for performance and durability in the field Support productionization of blade designs, working closely with suppliers to ensure product delivered meet drawing specifications Provide fleet support for maintenance and repair of fielded blades Work with cross functional teams within the Sikorsky Engineering and Technology group, across multiple sites Perform technical tasks including blade layouts including 2D cross-sectional design, 3D solid modeling and surfacing of blade assembly subcomponent parts, Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, engineering drawing and part specification development, developing composite laminate design and manufacturing requirements, and developing bonded assembly manufacture requirements Skills Bachelors Degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited university Familiarity with CAD software Familiarity with Composite Laminate structural design and analysis Good communication Skills Benefits Medical Dental Vision Life Insurance Short-Term Disability Long-Term Disability 401(k) match Flexible Spending Accounts EAP Education Assistance Parental Leave Paid time off Holidays Company Overview Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that specializes in advanced technology systems, products, and services.
